SAM Easy Update for Unlocking iPhones!

An even easier update is out!  For those of you who couldn't unlock their phones using the somewhat longer method, SAM has released an update for easier unlocking.

A Big thanks to Sam Bingner, Loktar_Sun and Laforet - the geniuses behind this unlock

Here's what you do.

1. Follow the steps to install SAM from Cydia as given in the previous tutorial.

2. Once SAM is installed from Cydia, Insert your new SIM card and tap to select SAMPrefs from your SpringBoard.

3. Make sure your Method is set to Auto Detect and tap Utilities. You can also enter your Carrier manually by choosing the option "Country and Carrier"

4. You will see an "Attempt Activation" button.  If Attempt Activation is not highlighted, select "De-activate phone" and then "Attempt Activation" should then appear.  Select that.

5. A Popup will appear asking you to wait as the unlocking will take a while.

6. After a while, your iPhone will respring and you should see your network and signal bars appear.

7. Apple may somehow close this method of unlocking your iPhone, so make sure you backup your unlock tickets.

8.  Enjoy your unlocked iPhone.  It will stay unlocked even when you connect to iTunes, reboot, restore, as long as you're using the same SIM card!

Hi guys.. i posted a non working post here a couple days ago and i gave up because i couldnt get this to work but i just litterally saw a video on youtube which was soooo simple you dont even need to do all this rubbish!!! and i confirm that it is working for sure as i was thinking it was a load of rubbish..

im using vodafone uk sim and ios 5.0.1 basband 4.10.01 ((((jailbroken iphones only))))

This is what i did so hopefully it should work for you guys.. I didnt use auto detect because it didnt work for me.. and i didnt even need to connect to my laptop (windows)

make sure no simcard is inserted***

Add the repo ""repo.bingner.com"" then once added. go to cydia --> sources --> Bigner and click on SAM and install the package. once it is installed insert the simcard of your choice and then go to your spring board where all your icons are.. and look for the new added proram ""SAMprefs"" it will have a icon of a simcard..

open SAMprefs and make sure Subscriber Artificial Module is enabled if it isnt.

Next click on method ** auto detect didnt work for me so i chose by bundled name**

under bundle name, find your simcard network. mine was vodafone_uk

next click on utilities and click on attempt activation.. if your iphone screen turns black with the white loading symbol it means it has worked and is respringing.
If like me before trying auto detect. a box shows up saying attemping to activate for about a minute and then says error.. i tried several times before i tried a different root.. and bingo! but if you manage to get it to work with auto detect then gratz.

when the phone starts again it should show the the operator logo.. Mine first showed the 3G symbol and thats when i knew somthing went right.. then a couple seconds later my vodafone logo showed up..

Gevey sim goes back in the packaging lol!

this is the video i found which i followed but i didnt even need to connect to a pc.
